Play Free Poker Games Guide to How Win a Poker Fortune

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I can imagine a free online poker player on http://www.NoPayPOKER.com who, after watching some episodes of the World Series of Poker or the World Poker Tour, suddenly gets ‘inspired’ and tries out one of the big advertised poker sites. As luck would have it he gets dealt 4-4 and, just like a pro he just saw moves all-in early position in the belief that it is a great move. As any experienced poker player will tell you, yes, it could be a good play but not all the time.

As it is, the overenthusiastic free online poker player loses a large stack, it costs him hundreds of dollars in real money.

Instead may I suggest that the best thing to do is to practice these “pro” plays on free online poker, so that mistakes can be learned from? He can play free poker games get knocked out, learn from it and still have hundreds of dollars left.

Play Free Poker Games is also a great way to build a bankroll, if you don’t have one, and if you play long enough. And you will learn to play poker for free and learn from your mistakes and those others make. Sure, you can try playing your Q-7 offsuit and then flop a Q-5-3 and then get called by A-Q later or K-K – that is when you realize your Q-7 is trash, and you ought not play it again.

Of course, you can watch someone else play the Q-7. He may flop Q-5-3, as above, or even A-J-7. Now you know you have him, because you have K-K (in the first flop) or A-K, or J-J (in the second). Now you remember the times when you win, and when you recall these times every time a similar situation arises, you will win the pot. If you play free poker long enough you will see what these situations are and then be able to characterize them like this: On the first flop, it may be ‘Playing Overpairs’; on the second, it may be ‘Playing Top Pair’ or ‘Playing a Set’.

There is, however, a downfall if you are not careful: Suppose you play 3-2 off and you win. You might think 3-2 off is a good hand, and then suddenly you rush to play real money poker. You lose. You think, “How would 3-2 be harpooned in this board! This just won last week!”

If you are observant enough for a long time in playing free online poker you might notice plenty of players doing the same (playing bad hands) and they win. You can watch if they are winning consistently or not, and oftentimes they don’t. Someone plays 7-2, the wins; someone plays it again later, then loses. When you play free poker games it may not yet teach you that A-10 is sometimes dangerous to play after a raise because it might be a better Ace, but it teaches you what hands to avoid and what to play.

In free online poker you should not just play any old hand. You must play as if it is really big money at stake. Play only good starting hands. If you keep playing bad starting hands without the ability to represent them (and representing hands is not so practical in free poker because many free poker players play just any hand, bet when they hit the Flop and throw when they don’t) you will be a bad player sooner.

Regarding this, here is another point, indeed this is the key point that will win you a lot of money:

Many free online poker players are novices and maniacs so if you take your time and master free poker you will know how to beat them.

Next, you will find when you move on to lower stakes real money you will mostly be facing these very same type of novice and maniac who have watched too much TV, and what do you think will happen then?

That’s right, your hard earned free poker skills will trash them and they will “donate” their stacks to you time and time again!. And as for the really good players, it’s so easy – avoid them unless you have the nuts.

This article is by NoPayPOKER, the perfect learn to play poker online free site for beginners to play free poker games without risking any cash. For more experienced poker players the draw is in the ability to fine tune game play and techniques in a totally no risk zone while collecting free online poker cash at the same time.

A Free Poker article on how to set up private poker games

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Private poker games have been around since the beginning of poker but in today’s world with many households containing two career oriented adults with children it’s very difficult to schedule a time for a game with friends.

In an advancing technological world there are solutions out there. The rapid spread of poker played over the internet including many free poker sites now offer the opportunity for you to set up your own private games. These games are slightly different to the ones you may have previously experienced however you will still have the choice of stakes, starting chips and blinds.

While Texas Holdem is one of the most popular online games Omaha is now making a big come back and on many sites both are available in the private games.

The majority of internet games only have a small opportunity to join so its good practice to be organised and invite all of the players well in advance. Not all sites have the option of slotted start times so shop about first.

Another good tip on the organisational front is to find how easy the game is to find and access once you have set it up. Some of the bigger sites make this extremely difficult- once you have found a site you can use and find, be sure to spread the word.

Remember, being online is not the same as playing in someone’s home, others online have the ability to see your game and all poker sites have bans on crude, abusive or offensive language so keep it clean.

Finally after finding an online platform that can accommodate all of your demands you can get started. Both free poker and pay sites should be able to cater for you and then it’s as simple as deciding an available time and letting the battle commence.

A Simple Free Online Poker Sit N Go Strategy

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Sole table competitions or sit and go as they’re also known can earn some decent cash with no thought before play. I personally love playing the free online poker sites and also the low stake (up to ten dollars) sit and go websites. I have my methods on how I play these different games which I will share.

Solid and Tight early on.
By playing this way you must play a decent hand near the start of the tournament. Your place at the table is critical- Paris from twenty two through ninety nine, I call and then up to three times the big blind. A bigger raise and I fold them.

Big pairs such as 10/10, Jack/Jack, Queen/Queen, King/King & Ace/Ace I will always call for a raise on a short table.

Be prepared to call an all in with any of those. Hands like QJ, QK, KJ, and A 10 I play like small pairs and fold to raises larger than 3 times the Big Blind.

Now the hands that can get you into trouble.
I will explain to you in this next part some of the cards which may leave you in despair. Ace/Jack, Ace/Queen & Ace/King- you really have to understand when it’s best to fold these cards. Don’t get me wrong they’re brilliant cards when there’s just a hand full of opponents remaining, however during the opening they’re no good to any pair.

Learn to lay them down in the early part of a free poker tourney. One of the things I also do until the last 3 and in the money is show my winners. The table see’s Those KK and trip 7’s and so on. And I haven’t bluffed on a single hand…Yet. That comes when only 3 left. No more show and tell.

This sets up some great steals. All they have seen is winners from you…they have no reason to believe you don’t have them now.

By only playing premium hands in the early stages you allow the “Bingo” players to play themselves out. Chances are by playing Solid and Tight you will have the opportunity to take one or two out yourselves.

The bottom line is- you’re playing to win- and by winning you hope to make some money, and making money on the sit and go games takes a lot less effort. The majority of the time the top three will get some money and by coming third you normally break even. Therefore making the cash is crucial to doing well in sit and go poker games.

Another factor in play is a pet peeve of mine. I cannot count the times I have seen a table fold to a dead seat. There is nothing like seeing a deadhead getting free chips. The key factor here is PAY ATTENTION. You have to be in the game and not on vacation.

Add with this there are always the common sense fundamentals when playing for money. I’m one of the old school and being in my fifties I have seen the game evolve in many forms over many decades. To quote one of mu idols “No limit holdem can be taught in half an hour but can take over a lifetime to master”.

To this I’d add, when you start or if you’re already familiar with poker but struggling – go and practice on micro/low stakes or free online poker site tournaments. There are some great ones out there and you can play loads with little or nothing at risk and in doing so really build your confidence and skills before starting to risk it bigger.

A Novices Guide to Free Poker Limit Hold-em

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Limit hold-em is one of the easier of the poker games to understand and for this reason is very popular especially with the free poker sites. Its not that the rules differ to those of other poker games it’s simply the process of placing bets is different. The maximum value is identical to the big blind and you can’t place a wager in excess of that maximum value- therefore the only way to get this elevated is to check in the 1st round of gambling in early positions and gamble in the later positions. It’s good practice to widen the parameters of hands your willing to play with; this will adapt your usual method of play.

The basic’s are pretty much the same with three simple rules that are bet, bet, and bet. Pre-flop you want to bet the pot as much as you can with your big hands and call the minimum with most everything from low suited connecters on up in the later positions. After the flop you want to bet with any made hands or draws equal to or greater then a flush draw taking the strength of the finishing hand into consideration.

The main idea is to just bring up the pot as much as you can whenever you think you may win the hand. The pro and con of limit hold’em is that it is much easier to chase a hand to the river for both you and your opponent and this is the reason that you should just bet, bet and bet. They will get their share and you will get yours when the time is right. Hopefully this guide will help, give it a go, on a free poker site if you can and see how it goes and above all have fun!

Free Poker Online Tips to Understanding the Difference Between Bad Losses V Decent Playing

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

Like anything in life; you have some decent days and some terrible days. Poker is just the same regardless of the way you play; be it at a casino or playing free poker online. Regrettably it’s more often than not the decent cards you end up folding with, while the awful losses end up getting you especially because you were in fact trying to play the hand.

What I’ve learned is how you can play your lovely pocket pairs but they rarely hit vs playing those crappy hands like a 6 2 or a 4 9 but those pocket aces your bad beats will lost while those hands u fold are crap til that flop appears.

Why does this happen? Why is the luck always on someone else’s side? Why does poker do this to the good players while the donks well, they constantly hit with the pockets while you lose? This is called bad beats vs donks at this point. As those donks keep playing like utter crap, you go what the hell is this?

What I’ve learned is when you play online verses in person you will encounter more bad beats online and lost to those donks that love to all in verses in person everyone plays tighter than those pair of jeans that you wear that are 2 sizes too small but you insist they fit… just like you insist a pair of pocket aces will fit.

The bottom line to all of this is obvious- Poker is life- exciting, has its highs and its low points and usually unpredictable.

Poker and free poker online are interesting as you are oblivious to the cards that are about to be dealt. Just like everyday life it’s the small variable decisions that can either work for you or work against you and turn your day into one horrible bad beat.

Free Poker Tips – Guide to Playing with Big Pairs

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

In this free poker article we discuss how to play with big pairs like AA, KK, QQ and JJ

With the best hand, AA it is very important to look for big raise or re-raise if someone raises before you. It is a mistake in strategy with AA to just call a raise because you are missing the opportunity to get more money into the pot with the best hand and more important thing is that you are giving players with weaker hands the opportunity to improve their hands on the flop.

Your goal is to force others to fold or to think you are bluffing with one big card or two big cards and call your big raise. It is important when playing with AA not to slow play with small raise so you won’t allow your opponents to improve on the flop and maybe on future streets and also you will thin out number of opponents.

After the flop you should do big raise not giving anyone chance to call for any straights, flushes or drawing hands for small amount of chips. However, there is always possibility that one of your opponents has made a better flop and so you should be aware of the fact that you may no longer hold the best hand. But in spite of this, you will normally still be ahead and so you should continue to build the pot unless you are quite sure that you are no longer ahead.

Raising before the “flop” with cards such as King / King, Queen / Queen or Jack / Jack is a good idea. Imagine if a player has an Ace with a lower card, the odds are on your side that you will face better cards than this before “the flop”. By raising will lower the amount of players who want to see “the flop”- you want to cap the amount of players who your playing against with either of these card duo’s as the opposition can effortless end up with better cards by receiving an Ace on the “flop”.

There are 2 scenarios which the “flop” creates- you will either turn overcards or you won’t. When there’s no overcards on the flop you should carry on raising. The 2nd scenario when overcards are on the table is a lot harder to play. I recommend to raise a three or four times a large blind and then consider your options after the opposing player responds to the raise. If they call be careful and bide your time as you don’t have the highest chance of taking the money in any more scenarios. If the pot keeps getting larger you must be ready to let the hand go.

Although it’s not an exact science playing with big pairs if you go for right raises before flops you have a better chance of taking the money. One thing to think about though is the possibility that the opposing players could have better cards than you; especially if they’re playing strongly, gambling and raising too.

I look forward to seeing you at the free poker tables soon!

Why Free Poker Articles Won’t Make You a Winner

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I’ve written many articles on poker but one of the best ways to learn is to play. You can read free poker article all day but when you’re out there with the other players implementing what you learned can be a whole different story. Some players may feel scared to lose chips or just plan feel a certain move is dumb or “only for donkeys”.

Playing poker continuously is the only way to keep your mind on the right track. Making poker moves away from your comfort zone, such as bluffing and blind stealing is something I would recommend you continue over time to prove to yourself that they do pay off. Trying these moves a few times a week just won’t cut it, you’ll lose 2 or 3 times and just give up on that major part of poker all together.

It’s been said that if you’re sitting at a table looking for a donkey and can’t find one it is most likely you. Similarly, if every other player at the table looks like a donk, then it may well be that you don’t actually know how to play poker. Some may be offended by that, but by winning is what determines who the best players are not what hand they had pre flop.

The thing to remember when playing poker is that everybody takes a beat at the tables. Nobody is invincible and it happens to the best of us, but the long term result is what matters. Any player can learn how to play poker in a matter of hours, but to master the game can take years. Keep playing at every opportunity and build your skill to the point that you can move on to cash games and earn some serious money, but until the time comes that you are ready, stick with free poker.
