Over five hundred years have passed since the first pocket watch was displayed. One of the original versions came from Germany and was the beginning of a popular trend. As time has continued to pass, watch companies began to appear around the world. But one particular company has an exceptional place in the industry – Citizen watches eco.
The company planted its roots in 1918, long before the company was a household name. Within 12 short years it became an established corporate name focused on building the worlds finest watches. Surprisingly enough, the name was chosen by the Mayor of Tokyo. It was his idea that everyone should have the opportunity to own such a fine timepiece. Thus, the name came to pass, providing everyone access to ownership.
As an industry leader they were only one company within a group of watchmakers. However, it did have quite a different goal; to make wrist watches available to the masses. Inside of a few short years the company completed its first watch factory in Japan. There are over 3,000 employees across the world today, all an integral part of creating and exporting watches to people around the world.
As the watch company continued to grow and create, it became the first Japanese corporation to produce a shock resistant wrist watch. Though that may not seem of great significance today, it was a major leap in technology at that time. This opened the door to a more reliable and wearable product. Just three short years later they jumped ahead once again with the first water resistant watch.
Just prior to 1960 the company began to export to China. Additionally, at the beginning of the new decade, they created a relationship with a U. S. watch company exporting to the United States. Growing to worldwide recognition, the company produced the world’s first diver’s watch, a watch that actually had the ability to electronically detect depth.
Over the next few decades watches began to become more than just a way to tell time. They became a fashion statement and a wearable work of art. Today we see watches selling for thousands of dollars; making a clear statement to the value of wrist gear. During all this time, this corporate marvel kept setting the standard for quality and innovation. Dedicated designers and engineers created the thinnest liquid crystal display watch. Following right behind that breakthrough, the thinnest light powered watch was created, eliminating the need for winding or batteries.
Not forgetting the world around us, the company led the industry in technology and environmental awareness. It was the first corporation to receive the “Eco Mark” approval for its advanced light powered watches. The Eco Mark symbol represents a voluntary effort by a company to protect the earth by creating products (watches) that reduce waste and improve the environment.
When it comes to wrist wear, people frequently have different tastes. Types, size and style are all factors considered before purchasing a watch. For most people, watches are an extension of one’s personality. Some folks may be looking for an everyday work watches for men, while some are seeking a work of art costing thousand of dollars. Whatever you have in mind, you will more then likely find what you’re looking for with mens Citizen watches.
