When you are looking around seriously for a green house,among many features,the surroundings of your dream house will be primary concern. The other aspect as important as the primary concern is the features which are essential for the less consumption of energy and fuel on a day to day basis.
The proposed home is located in such a place where every thing essential for a normal living is available in easy reach then it can be classified as a green home rather than a home which are located far away and have to drive around a lot for trivial things can not be considered as green home even if the ambiance of the atmosphere is too environmental friendly. This is because of the simple reason that you will be expending more than necessary for fuel expenses,time and money.
Many people will be dreaming for self sufficiency for a green home. Self sufficiency means,producing enough food for a normal family from a well maintained garden,solar energy panels or a wind/water mill within the compound.
There will be a common meeting point if these two conditions are met. The green houses of this nature will be less dependent for their energy supply from their local grid which means more contribution towards a better environment.
Finally imagine that you have succeeded in finding a location,where the scope for self sufficiency and easy reach for your basic needs are available. In other words you are having the best of every thing but not up to the satisfying level. In that case you have to concentrate on the best architectural design. We have to go for such a design of the house and the surroundings so that the requirement of the energy is as little as possible,a design of the house where there will be coolness in summer and enough warmth in winters.
This type of environmentally healthy design along with the use of certified energy content appliances,you will be contributing significantly for the energy saving. But for many,the initial investment is prohibitive,but this will pay off handsomely in the near future.
We will feel rightly about the initial cost for a green house. For many it indeed is prohibitive. We have to take a pro active attitude to get over this problem. What we have to do is to concentrate on the long term rewards on this.
We will be significantly contributing to the well being of the environment. So be a part of the elite who are on hell bent to create a healthy environment for self and future generations.
